Job Description

Full Stack Software Developer



Location: Remote(from UK based home address - please note that in person attendance to final interview is required)
Hours: 08:00 to 16:30 (with 1 hr unpaid break for lunch)
Contract: Full time fixed term contract for 1 year (with possibility of extension depending on business need)
Salary: 40000 45000 per annum (depending on experience)
Reporting to:Head of Engineering



Role Overview

Were looking for a versatile and experienced Full Stack Developer to join our growing engineering team.

You will play a key role in building and maintaining scalable web applications that support our digital platforms and internal tools.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working across the stack and collaborating with cross-functional teams.



Key Responsibilities

  • Design develop and maintain robust full-stack applications using modern frameworks.
  • Collaborate with product managers designers and other developers to deliver high-quality features.
  • Write clean testable and efficient code using best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews architecture discussions and agile ceremonies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve bugs performance issues and production incidents.

Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React HTML5 CSS3 JavaScript
  • Backend: Django
  • Databases: MySQL PostgreSQL MongoDB
  • Other: Figma Agile/Scrum GitHub Actions

Requirements:

Essential

  • 2 years of experience in full stack development
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React
  • Experience with Django and MySQL
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team

Desirable

  • Exposure to mobile development (React Native)
  • Background in edtech or education platforms
  • Familiarity with other backend frameworks or CMS platforms

Shortlisting & interviews:

  • Shortlisting of applications: reviewed by the hiring team on an ongoing basis. If an application is of interest the candidate will be issued with a technical test (from TestGorilla) to complete. The hiring lead will arrange a remote call with applicants who successfully complete the test to discuss it along with the role and expectations.
  • Interviews: those who successfully complete the test to the expected level and remote call with the hiring lead will be invited to a face to face interview at our London Head Office (currently planned for w/c 1st September 2025)
  • Final outcomes: by 9th September 2025
  • Start date: ASAP
