Apply: Summary

Oversees and plans inventory control activities for finished goods fabricated parts and/or component outsourcing for assigned projects. The position supports on-time delivery to customers by coordinating resources managing materials processing orders and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain efficient and responsive manufacturing operations. Coordinates with procurement and internal production teams to facilitate timely and efficient material supply.

Essential Job Functions

  • Interfaces and coordinates with program management engineering manufacturing and production teams and the supply chain to ensure accuracy of technical data packages.
  • Works in collaboration with engineering and production to ensure component and system designs meet performance specifications and production schedule and all discrepancies are identified and resolved.
  • Assists as required in the development of a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to establish a project development structure.
  • Creates monitors analyzes and executes Production Build Plans from WBS to ensure product development meets contract requirements to include labor skill requirements estimated labor hours bills of material quality assurance requirements technical data requirements and special tool requirements.
  • Leverages multiple systems and tools to proactively identify and communicate potential material issues or bottlenecks that prevent execution of the production build plan work with cross-functional teams to overcome obstacles improve processes and drive continuous improvement efforts related to production scheduling.
  • When designated attends meetings and planning conferences in the absence of the Department Director or Production Planning Manager. May be required to conduct briefings and have direct interface with primary Company customers.
  • Assists supply and procurement teams with monitoring purchasing activities resolving issues and initiating follow-up action necessary to ensure the timely receipt of supplies and services.
  • Assists as required in preparation planning and participation in Contractor Preliminary Inspection (CPI) Government Preliminary Inspection (GPI) Hardware Software Inspection (HSI) and other related inspections/audits.
  • Interfaces and coordinates with the Program Manager on the development and preparation of inputs into the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) Critical Design Review (CDR) In Process Review (IPR) and other program reviews.
  • Supports Costpoint MRP system functions against project demand to plan and schedule material purchases Manufacturing Order releases and material transfers as required.
  • Conducts regular audits of MRP data to identify and correct errors including Bills of Material (BOMs) Master Manufacturing Order Routers and planning parameters to reflect changes in project design scope or demand.
  • Provides oversight mentorship and guidance to Data Entry Specialists on technical drawing interpretation MRP inputs and daily responsibilities fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
  • Participates in key meetings for manufacturing quality product planning and design planning.
  • Ensures compliance with company standards and best practices in project planning and execution.
  • Utilizes practical problem-solving skills to address project challenges effectively.
  • Demonstrates initiative and works independently to drive project success.
  • Attends new business proposal meetings as directed.
  • Participates in the development of cost estimates for new workload.
  • Writes and submits lessons learned throughout the life of projects to formally documentsuccesses failures and challenges so that these can be shared with other Planning team members.
  • Must be capable of safely handling government-furnished equipment and materials.
  • Must be available to work a standard weekly schedule with overtime as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

No direct reports; ensures junior planning staff are on task by setting objectives providing training and monitoring progress.



Requirements

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Must have creativity innovation commitment to excellence and the ability to work in a diverseand fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of military and commercial training device publications technical data and material requirements.
  • Ability to deliver well-constructed polished presentations and briefings for clients and team members.
  • Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes and production strategies.
  • Advanced understanding of technical drawing conventions to include BOMs material callouts lines dimensions and tolerances symbols and abbreviations.
  • Sound understanding and practical knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications specifically Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of quality processes and the ability to assess the implementation of LSIsquality policy as it relates to the production effort.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Must demonstrate good judgment problem-solving and devotion to quality.
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance when required by the contract.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in business administration management engineering or industrialtechnology preferred plus two (2) years of production experience OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus six (6)yearsof production experience.
  • Ideally has 2-3 years of experience in avionics maintenance aviation maintenance or shipboard repairs and modernization.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
