Custodian - Districtwide

POSITION TITLE: CUSTODIAN

QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school diploma or G.E.D.

2. Basic custodial skills

REPORTS TO: Lead Maintenance

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Change light bulbs.
2. Clean windows walls rugs janitor closets lights and picks up trash around school buildings.
3. Dust mop and wet mop class rooms offices bathrooms stairs hallways gym and boiler room.
4. Set up and clean cafeteria for breakfast and lunch.
5. Open and secure building A.M. and P.M.
6. Prepare maintenance reports and request for Superintendent.
7. Complies with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash and waste.
8. Repair minor plumbing and electrical problems.
9. Order supplies and unload supplies.
10. Responds to emergency clean ups and spills.
11. Practices safety rules.
12. Summer cleaning: Strip and wax floors wash all furniture wash filters clean air conditioners and blowers. Move and arrange furniture within building as required.
13. Operate cleaning equipment: vacuums floor strippers cleaning buffer and polisher and carpet shampooer.
14. Apply all school and district policies and procedures.
15. Communicate effectively with students staff and community.
16. Perform various other duties as assigned by supervisor.
