Job Description

Position: Interim Principal Tiverton High SchoolReports to: Superintendent of SchoolsStart Date: ImmediatelyStatus: Interim Full-TimeGeneral Statement of DutiesThe Interim Principal of Tiverton High School is the educational leader responsible for the administration supervision and evaluation of all school programs services personnel and activities. The Interim Principal ensures that the school provides a safe supportive and academically rigorous environment that promotes student achievement equity and personal growth. This position requires close collaboration with faculty staff students families the Superintendent and the School Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Interim Principal shall:Serve as the instructional leader of Tiverton High School ensuring effective teaching and learning consistent with district goals and Common Core State StandardsAdminister and/or oversee all school operations including scheduling student discipline attendance safety and building managementSupervise support and evaluate all school personnel in accordance with Rhode Island Educator Evaluation Model Tiverton School District policy and contractual agreementsPromote a positive and inclusive school climate that supports student engagement social-emotional development and equity for all learnersDevelop and maintain effective communication with parents/guardians community members district administration and the Tiverton School CommitteeEnsure compliance with all applicable federal state and local laws regulations and policiesOversee the preparation and administration of the school budget and manage school resources responsiblySupport implementation of curriculum instruction and assessment practices aligned to Common Core State StandardsLead the School Improvement Team in the development implementation and monitoring of the School Improvement PlanPerform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of SchoolsMinimum QualificationsMasters degree in Educational Leadership Administration or related fieldRhode Island Building Level Administrator Certification (required)Five (5) years of successful teaching experience preferably at the secondary levelPrior administrative or leadership experience at the secondary level preferredDemonstrated knowledge of secondary curriculum assessment and instructional practicesProven ability to foster positive relationships and build consensus among diverse stakeholdersStrong communication organizational and problem-solving skillsCommitment to equity diversity and culturally responsive practicesCompensation and Terms of EmploymentSalary and benefits commensurate with experience and in accordance with Tiverton School Committee policyInterim appointment; contract duration to be determined by the Superintendent and School CommitteeApplication ProcedureQualified candidates should submit the following materials via School Spring:Letter of interestCurrent resumeCopy of Rhode Island administrator certificationThree (3) current professional referencesContact:Christopher Haskins SuperintendentTiverton School DistrictTiverton RI 02878Phone: Email: will be accepted until the position is filled.
