Duty Schedule:

7:00 AM 9:00 PM (Flexible) Sunday through Saturday

Summary/Objective of Position:

The Career Education Program is looking to recruit interns for the Ascendium Paid Internship Program. This internship offers students the opportunity to gain meaningful applied work experience in a professional environment through temporary placements. The Ascendium Paid Internship Program provides individuals a chance to explore various career options with their field of study.

To apply candidates must submit a complete application packet which includes:

  • Two Recommendation Letters (One instructor preferred)
  • Unofficial transcripts
  • Summer of Fall 2025 class schedule

Description of Essential Functions of the Position

  • Position Overview:
    • College intern will provide administrative and office support to various departments at both the Tsaile and Shiprock campuses of Din College.
  • Primary Responsibilities:
    • Assist with the creation and maintenance of databases and records.
    • Conduct research compile data and support the development and editing of publications.
    • Help plan and coordinate events and activities across departments.
    • Update departmental websites and support various assigned projects.
    • Draft type and format reports correspondence spreadsheets memorandums and emails in accordance with departmental standards.
    • Manage incoming and outgoing calls respond to program-related inquiries and distribute written materials as needed.
  • Additional Duties:
    • Collaborate with departmental staff and provide administrative assistance to support day-to-day operations.
    • Attend and take notes during Zoom meetings conferences and other organizational events.
    • Contribute to planning assessment and reporting efforts (weekly monthly or quarterly) to help achieve institutional goals.
    • Maintain awareness of and align with the organizational structure strategy and culture.
    • Participate in variety of programs and projects to gain a broad understanding of departmental functions and responsibilities.
  • Key Competencies:
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.
    • Willingness to learn adapt and engage across diverse departments and functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

Minimum & Preferred:

  • Minimum of a 2.0 term and cumulative GPA.
  • Be enrolled part- or full-time student at Din College in Summer 2025 semester
  • Must be enrolled in a degree program at Din College and have completed at least 24 credit hours at the College
  • Must be in good academic and social standing

Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of Zoom Microsoft Office Outlook Word and Excel is required.
  • Exceptionally well organized with excellent follow-through abilities.
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrate agility to shift directions in response to changing work situations.
  • Knowledge of on-line and in-person campus resources.

Skills:

  • Proficient organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and duties.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Ability to document and outline meetings on behalf of the organization or department.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various individuals and managers.
  • Efficient social skills to present and conduct group activities.
  • Be punctual and respectful to coworkers and management.

Abilities:

  • Ability to follow directions and complete assignments.
  • Ability to learn and use various software and innovative technology.
  • Willingness to mentored and trained regarding organizational duties and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of Din College Student Code of Conduct.
  • Ability to conduct research at secondary level.
  • Ability to commit to 20-hours a week to work responsibilities and maintain high academic standards simultaneously.

Physical Requirements Work Environment & Travel:

  • Must be able to lift more than 20 pounds repetitive bending/reaching standing sitting climbing twisting walking or running for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work remotely through telework if needed.

Other Requirement(s):

  • Knowledge of Navajo Culture & Language is preferred.
  • Coordinate and organize meetings and special events.
  • Oral fluency in the Navajo language is desired but not required.
