Job Summary:

ESAero is seeking a self-motivated Composite Technician to join our team in San Luis Obispo CA. The composite technician will work with a team of engineers in the fabrication of composites structures. Fabrication includes wet lays and pre-preg with carbon fiber fabrics and resin.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Lay out assemble pre-fit and bond carbon composite or laminate fabrications assemblies parts skins or equipment

• Cut fabric hand wet lay-up of carbon fiber material

• Use shop math and measuring instruments

• Obtain information from prints charts sketches work orders documents and verbal and electronic information

• Follow engineering and manufacturing specifications

• Operate curing ovens to complete curing cycles

• Sand burr smooth bond and seal

• Perform rework or repair

• Perform routine minor machine maintenance

• Operate ovens to complete bonding cycle

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Minimum 1 year composites fabrication experience

• Quick learner hard-working with skilled hands

• Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM or similar tools

• Read CAD drawings engineering sketches communicate challenges to small engineering teams

• Excellent work ethic and attendance

• Understand process methods and sequences

• Understanding of ply orientations and vacuum bagging processes

• Able to lift assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs

• Must be able to verbally communicate read and comprehend written and verbal instructions and be capable of doing basic mathematical calculations

• High attention to detail

• Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.

• Familiarity with windows based personal computers

• Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision

• US Citizenship Required
