Unleash your potential and make an impact! The Department of Commerce Division of Workforce Solutionsiscurrently accepting applications for the Hybrid Veteran Employment Consultant II in Charlotte.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) withState Benefits including health insurance as well as retirement.


***Recruitment Range: $37782 - $59035***

This position offers employment related services to multiple counties in the Southwest Prosperity Zone and within multiple Workforce Development Board. The position is located at the CharlotteNCWorks Career Center. Employment Services will be conducted for Veterans with special emphasis on campaign badges service-connected disabilities and any other veteran with an SBE (Significant Barrier to Employment) identified in VPL (Veterans Program Letter) 03-14 will receive special attention when it comes to employment services. To find members of the target group the work mostly includes outreach efforts through veterans and civic organizations. This includes development of appropriate employment and training opportunities and promotion of the hiring of disabled and other veterans. Working with veterans involves case management and providing intensive career services. The person occupying this role will assist the most disadvantaged veterans particularly those with SBEs employing a case management strategy and delivering comprehensive services equal to those provided by a full-time Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) specialist. Additionally this role would support employers and offer services similar to those of a full time Local Veterans Employment Representative (LVER) including educating them on how to comply with Federal Contractor Compliance organizing and participating in job fairs and hiring events advocating for the hiring and training of veterans and educating other office staff on the duties and responsibilities of the Hybrid Veteran Employment Consultant II and LVER. They will ensure that program reports are timely submitted to US Department of Labor (USDOL) and the State Office. The position is supervised by the DWS Manager in Charlotte.

Necessary Special Requirement:
Related public contact work dealing with veterans or job applicants and employers in a variety of functions. Title 38 United States Code (38 U.S.C.) Section 4103A requires that employees in this class be honorably discharged veterans who have served a minimum of 180 days on active duty in the Armed Forces or were discharged or relieved from active duty because of service-connected disability. Chapter 41 of Title 38 continues Preference shall be accorded in the following order:
  1. To qualified service-connected disabled veterans.
  2. If no veteran described in paragraph (1) is available to qualified eligible veterans.
  3. If no veteran described in paragraph (1) or (2) is available then qualified eligible persons.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in human resource administration case management job development and placement employment counseling vocational guidance and counseling social work vocational rehabilitation claims analysis or related public contact work dealing with job applicants and employers in a variety of functions;

or

Associate degree and three years of experience in human resource administration case management job development and placement employment counseling vocational guidance and counseling social work vocational rehabilitation claims analysis or related public contact work dealing with job applicants and employers in a variety of functions or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
