Position Summary:
Perform analysis of all finished products determine the status based on the results and ensure safety and quality of products. Weekly scheduled hours will consist of two 8-hour afternoon shifts (3:00pm to 11:00pm) and two 12-hour weekend shifts (7:00am to 7:00pm). The scheduled days of the week may vary from time to time based on the needs of the business so flexibility in scheduling is required.
Major Responsibilities:
Monitors functions of Quality Lab and operations to promote more appropriate systems testing methods and practices and follows-up on changes.
Co-ordinates various laboratory programs.
Participates in equipment calibration purchasing electronic records system and safety program.
Troubleshoot analysis equipment and production issues in QS lab and manufacturing areas maintain proper documentation. Prepare technical reports.
Perform Environmental Swabs ATP Swabs Pre-OP Inspections as required.
Participates in various internal audits (Quality Systems GMP and Food Safety) as required.
Performs analysis on finished product samples to ensure they meet specifications. Some analysis of raw materials may be required.
Maintains proper laboratory records (written and computer) and provides results in the required format. Prepare reports as required.
Communicate with other departments to provide results and technical support as required.
Conduct on-line product and process inspections and/or audits.
Assists in the investigation of customer complaints and dispositions of out-of-date materials.
Acquires and maintains the necessary skills and knowledge through reading and training in new areas.
Updates and maintains various aspects of plant quality system as instructed.
Qualifications:
University and/or College degree preferably in Food Science and/or Biotechnology with at least 1-2 years of hands-on experience in food manufacturing.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
