Essential Functions and Duties:
- Plan and coordinate professional development for visual arts department K-5
- Research and contact presenters/vendors for professional development and art showcase (calls emails follow up meetings).
- Secure funding date.
- Plan and facilitate LSW
- Act as contact/liaison between outside arts organizations attend meetings at various locations including outside St. Louis. Maintain communication with various organizations
- Keep documentation and artifacts for department and Professional Developments.
- Act as additional contact/mentor to teachers in department.
- Share resources and disseminate information with the department.
- Coordinate and secure location for student displays (County Library Foundry).
- Coordinate and participating in collecting and creating displays being available and present from start to finish.
- Create and distribute materials for displays shows and district wide art show.
- Manage visual arts district budget and order supplies.
- Lead in the planning and coordination of exhibitions and events.
- Order and transport materials for District Arts Showcase.
- Create and share district Central office board display.
- Create surveys to determine department needs.
- Assists (as needed) in determining budgetary needs and recommending purchases for district-wide and individual fine arts programs.
- Inventory supplies and technology for department.
- Act as liaison between art department and individuals.
- Facilitate curriculum writing acting as liaison between Curriculum dept and Art department.
Qualifications:
- No District Coordinator position can be held by a teacher who does not have specific teacher certification for the specific content area. (i.e. Coordinator must have Visual Arts Certification)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Exerts 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or
- Exerts 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or
- Prolonged periods of working on a computer.
- Sufficient vision to read printed material see distant objects with clarity and identify and distinguish objects.
- Sufficient hearing to hear conversations in person and on the telephone and hear sounds clearly up to 20 feet. Ability to speak in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversation and on the telephone and in addressing groups.
- Requires occasional or frequent standing walking sitting bending and reaching for extended periods of time.
- The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and is generally a hazard free environment.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed.
Salary: $5000 stipend
