Were looking for an HR Generalist to own payroll benefits administration and support key HR operations. This role is hands-on and detail-oriented covering everything from onboarding and offboarding to ensuring compliance and accuracy in day-to-day processes. Youll play a vital part in supporting employees and strengthening HR systems while gaining exposure to a broad range of HR responsibilities in a collaborative and growing company.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time.
- Main employee data process new hires and terminations and conduct new hire orientations.
- Administer benefits including enrollments changes terminations COBRA FMLA and PTO
- Support 401 (k) administration and deferred compensation plans.
- Serve as the first point of contact for payroll and benefits questions.
- Work with legal and external counsel on immigration cases and compliance tracking.
- Assist with HR policy administration and compliance documentation.
- Support offboarding processes including system terminations and exit tasks.
- Prepare reports maintain files and track employment verifications.
- Monitor work authorization due dates and ensure compliance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualitfications & Skills
Required:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration; independent ownership of these functions strongly preferred
- Proven experience processing payroll from start to finish including handling terminations expense reimbursements and maintaining tax documentation.
- Strong working knowledge of HRIS platforms and payroll systems.
- Familiarity with benefits administration including enrollments terminations COBRA FMLA PTO 401(k) plans deferred compensation and ACA compliance.
- Solid understanding of federal state and local payroll regulations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (reports data analysis and tracking files).
- Excellent attention to detail accuracy and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience supporting onboarding and offboarding processes including data entry orientation and exit processing.
- Ability to work independently prioritize tasks and manage deadlines.
Preferred:- Familiarity with employment verifications and monitoring work authorization due dates.
- Exposure to immigration processes and working with legal counsel on employee cases.
- SHRM-CP PHR or related HR certification.
- Experience with process improvements and system transitions.
