Job Description

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Duration: 2 years with possible extension
Location: Waterloo IA 50703
Shift: 1st shift (7:00 am 3:30 pm); must be open to short-term 3rd shift (2 3 months based on build schedules)

Job Description:
The Manufacturing Engineer will plan coordinate and perform engineering work for projects or processes within production operations. Responsibilities involve moderate-scope projects process improvements and collaboration within cross-functional teams. The role requires both office and shop floor involvement with approximately 50% of the time spent in production environments.

Major Duties:

  • Develop routings methods layouts tools costs and quality plans for current and new operations.
  • Provide troubleshooting support data analysis and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Lead cost reduction safety ergonomic and quality initiatives.
  • Apply CAD tools simulations and e-builds to optimize processes.
  • Support lean manufacturing and Deere Production System practices.
  • Design operational layouts improve material flow and conduct capacity and productivity studies.
  • Lead analysis and implementation of new processes and technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Support manufacturing/distribution processes tooling and quality systems.
  • Utilize CAD/engineering software (AutoCAD Creo etc.) for design and planning.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturing principles and ergonomics.
  • Contribute to capital budgeting equipment justification and facility improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Adapt to process changes material flow cycle balancing and visual management.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proficiency in CAD and engineering software.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing/distribution processes and quality systems.
  • Background in tooling preventive maintenance and ergonomics.
  • Strong communication teamwork and problem-solving skills.
  • Engineering degree (Manufacturing Mechanical Electrical Hydraulics etc.) or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • 2 years in Manufacturing Engineering Product Design Operations or Quality.
  • 1 years in line/process design visual management or material presentation.
  • Familiarity with SAP AutoCAD Creo and MAAP.
  • Experience with Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP).

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Industrial Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).

Software Proficiency:

  • Microsoft Outlook Excel Word
  • AutoCAD Creo SAP

Additional Information:

  • Business casual attire required.
  • Metatarsal footwear must be worn from day one.
  • Onsite role with initial interviews via Microsoft Teams.
  • May operate a Gator onsite after training.
