Position SummaryUnder the general supervision of a Radiologist the Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by licensed providers. This role requires a high level of technical expertise patient care skills and adherence to safety standards to support accurate diagnoses and optimal patient outcomes.
Essential FunctionsPerform high-quality radiology procedures in accordance with established protocols and safety standards
Prepare patients for exams position them appropriately and operate imaging equipment with accuracy
Communicate effectively using AIDET to identify patient needs ensure exam accuracy and build rapport
Educate patients and families about procedures and assess patient ability to tolerate exams
Protect patients and staff by adhering to infection control radiation safety and sterile techniques
Maintain equipment and work areas to ensure operational readiness cleanliness and compliance with standards
Collaborate with engineers/physicists to resolve equipment issues and maintain performance
Obtain and verify documentation including requisitions patient history consent forms and shielding precautions
Accurately maintain imaging records in the system per departmental standards
Support patient satisfaction goals by minimizing wait times remaining professional and providing compassionate care
Strong ability to perform radiology procedures independently and in a timely manner
Effective communicator able to explain procedures and ease patient concerns
Knowledge of emergency procedures and ability to administer first aid when necessary
Calm professional demeanor with strong problem-solving skills even under stress
Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining current knowledge
Ability to serve as a preceptor/trainer for new team members and new service lines
Willingness to take call if required
