DESCRIPTION
The HYROX North America team is looking for a Head of Finance & Business Operations located in Chicago to join our growing U.S. leadership team! HYROX has expanded into a global event series with more than 80 races worldwide in our upcoming 24/25 season. As we scale across North America this role will take ownership of all finance and operations processes in the U.S. from cash flow management and budget planning to building scalable infrastructure for event delivery and team growth.
You will work directly with the General Manager North America and in close collaboration with our global CFO based in Hamburg Germany who oversees group-wide finance. Your role will be to build and run the operational engine that powers HYROXs growth in the U.S.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Full financial oversight of HYROX North America
- Manage external service providers (accounting payroll tax) and ensure timely accurate reporting
- Oversee all financial deliverables & processes in collaboration with the global CFO and HQ finance team
- Develop and track key financial KPIs to monitor growth cost efficiency and ROI
- Lead operational process improvements across departments
- Ownership of vendor relationships (from contract to payment)
- Build and manage a small local finance & ops team as the organization grows
- Cross-functional collaboration with marketing partnerships event ops and gym affiliation teams
- Support strategic planning business case development and market expansion initiatives
- Attend HYROX U.S. events when needed to ensure smooth operational execution and presence on-site
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 710 years experience in Finance and/or Operations roles preferably in high-growth companies or the event/sports industry
- Strong financial modeling budgeting and KPI-tracking capabilities
- Hands-on experience setting up financial systems and processes
- Comfortable working with external accounting and tax partners
- High attention to detail with a structured and solution-oriented work ethic
- Excellent project management and communication skills
- A proactive collaborative and hands-on leadership style
- Experience working with Google Suite and financial/project management tools is a plus
- Willingness to travel and support HYROX events on-site when required
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Chicago IL
