Accountant

The Opportunity

As our Accountant you will support the day-to-day financial operations of a large-scale dynamic environment. You will handle accounting functions ranging from reconciliations and journal entries to preparing financial statements and driving month-end close processes. This position is ideal for an experienced and highly detail-oriented professional who is eager to contribute to a collaborative and thriving team.

Accountable for

  • Bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Post accrual entries and journal entries.
  • Prepare financial statements.
  • Maintain budget according to schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain the general ledger including payroll entries.
  • Support month quarter and year-end close process.
  • Assist in monthly KPI reporting.
  • Conduct trend analysis and provide fiscal projections for firm and real estate entities.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable reporting.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Work with outside property management companies and internal asset manager.
  • Collaborate with the outside CPA firm on tax filings and state deadline requirements.
  • Contribute to a positive team-oriented culture in the Los Angeles office.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor s Degree in Accounting required.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Yardi required.
  • Experience using NetSuite strongly preferred.
  • At least 3 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables V-Lookups and Logic Functions.
  • Strong knowledge of finance budgeting cost accounting cost control and GAAP principles.
  • Ability to make fiscal projections based on historical data and anticipated trends.
  • Property management experience.
  • Excellent organizational analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation

  • $90000 - $120000 depending on experience
