Frequency is a New Zealand-owned and operated specialist project advisory consultancy that has been optimising Kiwi infrastructure for over a decade. The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Data & Insights Practice Lead to join our growing Project Controls team. Reporting to the Integrated Controls and Data Lead this role offers a unique opportunity to lead the delivery of data and insights solutions for our clients while also shaping the internal technical standards practices and capability across our business.


You will work with a dynamic and talented team thats young curious clever and fun and help lead us to the next level of maturity in our data capabilities. Together we help clients bring clarity to complexity in their projectstransforming messy disparate information into actionable insights. This is a role where you can make a real impact both externally with clients and internally across our business.


Were open to full-time or part-time arrangements for the right person. This is an Auckland-based role primarily located in our office to collaborate closely with our team and clients. While people management is not a core component of the role leadership opportunities are available for candidates with the interest and capability to grow in that direction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and roll out internal best practice standards and guidelines to create consistency and quality control
  • Lead client commissions
  • Provide technical oversight of work including QA
  • Facilitate client workshops internal training sessions and external capability-building engagements
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of internal tools and solutions


About You

To thrive in this role you will bring a balance of technical expertise creativity and confident communication skills. Youll enjoy working in dynamic environments and bring structure and clarity to ambiguous challenges.

You will have:

  • An outgoing and confident personality to interact with clients lead workshops and run training. This is an outward client-facing role.
  • A proactive mindset strong problem-solving abilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Technical proficiency with the Microsoft suite of systems/tools is essential (as this is what our clients typically have access to) particularly: SQL Azure OneLake Power BI PowerApps SharePoint PowerAutomate.
  • Experience and skillset that covers the backend data architecture as well as the frontend dashboard and insights primarily build tools for ongoing use to plan track manage and report on the progress and performance of projects rather than one-off analysis activities.
  • Ability to work with disparate and messy information think outside the box and create clarity from complexity. The ideal candidate needs to be prepared to work with sub-optimal systems and data quality as not all of our engagements have high quality data management processes and systems.
  • Experience in the infrastructure construction or engineering sectors is a bonus but not essential
  • Microsoft certifications are advantageous
