What Will You Do Ka aha koe
Key responsibilities will include:
Providing clear accurate technical advice to the public builders and developers
Actively contributing to continuous improvement and BCA accreditation
Supporting customer service and complaint resolution
Maintaining accurate records to meet legislative and audit requirements
Identify potential risks issues or non-compliances.
Review applications for building consents PIMs and certificates of acceptance.
Check for completeness code compliance and validity of alternative solutions or producer statements.
Provide building-related input to the Planning team on resource consents to support well-informed decision-making.
Who Are You Ko wai koe
We are looking for someone with:
Essential:
3 years experience in building regulation or the construction industry
Sound knowledge of the Building Act 2004 NZ Building Code and relevant legislation
Excellent time management computer and communication skills
Confident working both independently and in a team environment
Current NZ Drivers Licence
High level of professionalism integrity and a commitment to continuous learning
Desirable:
NZ Certificate Level 4 in Building Regulatory Environment
Progress toward NZ Diploma in Building Control Surveying Construction or a trade qualification
Residential & Commercial Competency under the National Competency Framework
Previous experience in building control roles within local government or similar.
