Japan Senior Project Manager (JSPM)
The Senior Project Manager at Amgen is responsible for managing complex projects or programs. They oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle from planning and execution to monitoring and closing. This role often involves managing a project team and coordinating with multiple departments.
What you will do
Lets do this. Lets change the this vital role you will serve as a strategic partner to leaders of local (Japan) cross-functional project teams as well as of Global Program Managers (GPMs) and Global Senior Program Managers (SPMs) in the execution of the strategic vision of the program. You will drive the development and execution of high quality local integrated cross-functional project plans for one or more products in support of the overall program addition the JSPM may be asked to lead and/or participate in special department cross-functional or team projects. Key objective is to maximize the value of the portfolio by aligning local program development strategy & plans with global program strategy.
- Build and drive the execution of cross-functional local program strategy including translation and integration of Global Strategy and Innovation components into local strategy.
- Maximize value of programs to Amgen by guiding flexible strategies and efficient resource allocation that improve final outcome and ensure objectivity and rigor in cross-functional decision making (Value Cost Risk).
- Develop/ensure communication of local and global program information to local and global stakeholders including Japan Management Global Program. Managers Global SPM Japan cross-functional leads (JXLs) and JAPAPC PM.
- Drive scenario and trade-off analysis incl. risks impact at global and local cross-functional project team level.
- Oversee execution of marketing application submissions and key interactions with local health authorities.
- Facilitate/manage cross-functional project meetings (set agendas create minutes maintain decision log).
- Ensures adherence to governance processes.
- Advisor to Japan XLs on communication of key local program information.

- Bachelors degree in Life Sciences or a relevant field (Preferred advanced degree (MSc / PhD / MBA) or strong demonstration of equivalent combination of relevant educational and professional training).
- Drug development experience including deep experience in one or more core drug development and commercialization functions and experience leading teams thru governance process.
- Program and project management skills with experience operationalizing strategic initiatives including cross-functional strategic planning development of integrated plans monitoring and driving execution to plan.
- Emotional intelligence skills including influencing without authority and navigating within a matrix environment.
