Job Description
Job Summary (List Format):
- Provide end-to-end administration and support of SQL Server environments including installation configuration security patching and upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and manage SQL Server Agent jobs backup/restore operations replication clustering and AlwaysOn availability groups.
- Lead or assist in SQL Server performance tuning using tools such as SQL Profiler Execution Plans Index Optimization Wait Stats and DMVs.
- Generate interpret and monitor performance baselines dashboards and health reports.
- Support database management tasks including user management data refreshes schema changes and security audits.
- Assist in Oracle database activities including AWR/ASH/Statspack analysis and DataGuard/RMAN operations.
- Monitor database environments using Quest Spotlight OEM and custom alerting/monitoring tools.
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) preparedness including participation in DR drills.
- Collaborate with development BI and infrastructure teams to resolve performance and integration issues.
- Maintain compliance with SOX controls database access standards and audit requirements.
- Script and automate routine DBA tasks using T-SQL and PowerShell.
- Contribute to cloud-hosted SQL Server administration (e.g. AWS EC2/RDS Azure).
- Participate in 24x7 rotational shifts working effectively with a global team across APAC EMEA and Americas.
- Apply strong analytical troubleshooting and communication skills; take ownership and proactively automate/document repetitive tasks.
