About the role
There are two vacancies available for this role one is full-time (36 hours per week) and the other is part-time (21.75 hours per week / 0.6 FTE).

We are seeking to recruit a Placements Officer to identify and evaluate the quality of internal and external placements residential settings and related services for children in care. We want to ensure that we offer the best placements to our young people ensuring that those that are used offer high quality cost effective services and resources that match to the assessed needs of the child/young person placed.
Your role will involve close liaison with social workers in identifying a suitable placement provision and other support services to children and young people referred to the Placements Team.
About you
Key Skills:
- Experience of working with Children Young People or Families.
- Experience of identifying and procuring services and contracts.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Emotional resilience demonstrates the capacity to maintain effective functioning when working under pressure faced with difficult situations
- Be IT literate and maintain electronic systems
Knowledge:
- Children Act 1989 and subsequent legislation relevant to the role including Care Standards Act and associated regulation.
- Knowledge relating to identification of good standards and expectations of placements and related services and monitoring these arrangements.
- Knowledge of monitoring and evaluating services
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to Equal Opportunities for users staff & anti discriminatory practices.
- Must be able to travel.
