About the Role:
Nextracker is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team to design the next generation of Nextracker products. You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing next-generation products from concept to manufacturing.
What You Will Do:
Lead mechanical product design prototyping and testing of power electronics enclosures and support systems.
Work closely with cross functional teams and external partners to ensure project goals and schedules are met.
Develop comprehensive test plans build test apparatus and validate design performance.
Create documentation suitable for prototyping design and production stages.
Conduct in-depth analyses including FEA (static dynamic thermal) CFD and tolerance analysis to optimize designs for performance reliability and manufacturability.
Present design reviews and technical reports to internal stakeholders and management.
Investigate and resolve field failures or product performance issues.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors/ Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field;
10 years of proven experience in mechanical design and product development with a strong track record of successful product launches.
Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks and EPDM including advanced modeling surfacing and simulation capabilities.
Extensive experience with FEA software (Ansys) and a deep understanding of structural mechanics and heat transfer.
Thorough understanding of GD&T principles and their application in design and manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of various manufacturing processes including machining sheet metal fabrication casting injection molding and additive manufacturing.
Demonstrated experience with DFM/DFA principles and their practical application.
Hands-on experience with prototyping testing and troubleshooting mechanical systems.
Excellent communication interpersonal and presentation skills.
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
