Our Opportunity
You will be responsible for
- Communicating effectively with other engineers and technicians managers clients and administrative staff
- Conducting hands-on failure analysis
- Planning and executing mechanical design customized laboratory testing data acquisition and data analysis
- Performing field inspections
- Conducting material analysis
- Assisting other practice groups within Exponent on as-needed basis and supporting senior staff in project development and marketing
You will have the following skills and qualifications
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering or equivalent with focused thesis coursework and project experience in mechanical design solid mechanics structural mechanics or stress analysis utilizing experimental methods
- Experience conducting FEA is a plus
- Experience with laboratory analytical tools such as SEM/EDS FIB CT
- Experience with a CAD program such as SolidWorks
- Experience with programming in support of data analysis
- Ability to work within project teams with a strong desire to contribute
- Potential for technical and project managerial leadership
- Ability to work creatively take initiative and innovate under project budget and timeline constraints
- Excellent verbal and written English and Chinese communication skills
- Ability to convey technical information clearly to individuals in engineering business legal and related industries
