Senior Planning Engineer

Location: Santiago Industry: Renewable Energy

Client: PowerChina Chile Contracted via: Grafton Group

Are you an expert in project planning and scheduling ready to take the lead in the execution of high-impact renewable energy projects

At Grafton Group we are looking for a Senior Planning Engineer to join the PowerChina team. This role is critical for ensuring that our large-scale energy projects are delivered on time through effective coordination schedule management and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Your Mission

As a Senior Planning Engineer you will report directly to the Planning Manager and play a key role in defining and maintaining project schedules. Youll coordinate construction sequences align team objectives and track progress to keep projects on course from energy plants to transmission substations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee project planning strategies to ensure effective resource and time allocation.
  • Create and manage detailed schedules identifying key milestones and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to prioritize tasks and align objectives.
  • Conduct gap analyses and recommend corrective actions to keep the project on track.
  • Communicate progress risks and solutions to senior management and project stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date on industry best practices and project management tools.
  • Ensure compliance with execution standards in EPC civil works electrical infrastructure and contract management.
Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 8 years of experience in project planning and management specifically in wind farms photovoltaic plants or transmission substations.
  • Advanced English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
  • Proven experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Strong understanding of EPC execution processes contract management engineering coordination and scheduling.
  • Deep knowledge of project management tools and planning software.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills in both Spanish and English.
  • Leadership and personnel management capabilities.
  • Availability to work on-site in photovoltaic parks (Calama / Mara Elena).
  • Adaptability and flexibility to respond to changes in project plans.
