Job Description



GFL Environmental is seeking Spare Roll-Off Truck Drivers holding a valid Class 1 or Class 3 license with manual transmission to join our Coquitlam team!

The Spare Roll-Off Driver will be responsible for safely efficiently and courteously providing waste removal services to customers across multiple lines of business on an as-needed basis. Spare Drivers support the team by filling in for full-time drivers during absences vacations or peak business periods.

This role is ideal for drivers looking for a flexible schedule with the opportunity to gain experience and grow with GFL.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate roll-off truck and ancillary equipment to collect waste on assigned routes

  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety lane inspections and reports daily truck report route sheets and other documentation as requested by supervisor

  • Maintain route quality standards as predetermined by management

  • Follow all safety standards equipment checks and precautions in performance of all duties

  • Maintain clean vehicle by cleaning cab interior and exterior of vehicle

  • Report all accidents or incidents to supervisor(s) immediately

  • Exhibit a professional demeanor manner and appearance at all times

  • Maintain accurate records of services performed

  • Work closely with supervisor to improve routing efficiencies

  • Attend safety and branch meetings as required

  • May be required to work overtime

Requirements

  • Must have valid Class 1 or Class 3 License with manual transmission

  • 12 years of driving experience in a transportation sector

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Industry experience is an asset

  • Flexibility to work on-call with short notice
