Your future responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced research engineer leading the development of ion-trap chips (ITCs) at SAL. You will become part of a highly motivated international team committed to realizing the building blocks of next generation quantum technology. Your work will be embedded in an international collaborative network.
- CoordinateITC development and fabrication across different research units and cleanroom facilities.
- Executesmall-scalefabrication and prototypeforITC devicesin cleanroom facilitiesutilizing200 mm wafer-level technology.
- Coordinate testing of developed ITC devices.
- Co-develop thedesignfabricationand technological advancement of ion trap chips.
- Perform quality controland documentation forthestaticalprocess control.
- Communicate and report research findings to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
- Communicate and align with industry and academic partners
- Project management
- R&D project acquisition
Your profile
- PhDinphysicsquantum technology electronics engineering or similar
- 3 years of experience insemiconductor manufacturing and trapped-ion quantum technology
- Experience in industrial environment is an asset.
- Proficiency in English. German or willingness to learn is an asset.
- Motivated team player withgood communicationskills.
- Willingness torelocateto Austria/Villach.
- Willingness to travel.

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) starting in occupational group E (E1 salary EUR 3.963 paid 14 times a year) based on 385 hours per week. For this position we offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your experience and qualifications starting with a minimum gross salary ofEUR 61.000 (annual based on an All-in contract).
