We are looking for an experienced research engineer leading the development of ion-trap chips (ITCs) at SAL. You will become part of a highly motivated international team committed to realizing the building blocks of next generation quantum technology. Your work will be embedded in an international collaborative network.
CoordinateITC development and fabrication across different research units and cleanroom facilities.
Executesmall-scalefabrication and prototypeforITC devicesin cleanroom facilitiesutilizing200 mm wafer-level technology.
Coordinate testing of developed ITC devices.
Co-develop thedesignfabricationand technological advancement of ion trap chips.
Communicate and report research findings to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
Communicate and align with industry and academic partners

Your profile
PhDinphysicsquantum technology electronics engineering or similar
3 years of experience insemiconductor manufacturing and trapped-ion quantum technology
Experience in industrial environment is an asset.
Proficiency in English. German or willingness to learn is an asset.
Motivated team player withgood communicationskills.
Willingness torelocateto Austria/Villach.
Willingness to travel.

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) starting in occupational group E (E1 salary EUR 3.963 paid 14 times a year) based on 385 hours per week. For this position we offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your experience and qualifications starting with a minimum gross salary ofEUR 61.000 (annual based on an All-in contract).
