The EMEA Markets Engineering department (MEE) is responsible for developing models pricing tools and the pricing/risk systems used in the firm on all asset classes. Their products support the trading and risk functions of several different desks via in-house developed applications run on traders desktops compute grids and external cloud compute fabrics.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

We are seeking a Quant-Developer to join theEMEA Markets Engineeringteam contributing to the development and support of front-office systems and tools used by trading and risk teams. This is a high-impact role with strong exposure to the business offering the opportunity to work closely with quantitative modelers and traders in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

The team is actively engaged in multiple strategic initiatives that leveragecutting-edge technologiesto deliver innovative solutions to the business. As part of this role you will have the chance to contribute to these forward-looking projects and help shape the next generation of tools.

In addition many of the systems developed by the Markets Engineering team are beingadopted globally creating interesting opportunities to collaborate with international teams.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Collaborating regularly with the quant modelling team and front-office traders to understand business needs and deliver effective solutions
  • Designing developing and integrating new pricing tools and systems to support trading activities
  • Identifying and resolving production issuesincluding but not limited to pricing performance and system reliabilityto ensure smooth operation of front-office tools and systems
  • Continuously improving the robustness efficiency and maintainability of the codebase
  • Participating in anovernight support rota providing coverage for critical systems outside of standard business hours

WORK EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of technical expertise and financial domain knowledge with a proven track record in quantitative development within trading environments. Specifically we are looking for someone with:

  • 7 years of experiencedesigning developing and supporting quantitative applications and systems within financial institutions
  • Direct exposure to trading floor environments with a history of working closely with traders and quantitative analysts to deliver high-impact solutions
  • Hands-on experience with derivative productsacross one or more asset classes (e.g. equities fixed income FX commodities) with a solid understanding of pricing and risk concepts
  • We also welcome candidates that dont have a traditional IT-Quant background provided they have built and supportedhigh-reliability systemsin critical domains such asaerospace energy healthcare or at leading technology firms and can demonstrate an interest in transitioning into financial markets and quantitative development.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Minimum7 years of experiencedeveloping front-office applications usingC#
  • Strong understanding ofpricing theoryandfinancial engineering
  • A technical degree inComputer SciencePhysicsMathematics orEngineering or equivalent work experience

Beneficial:

  • Proficiency in additional programming languages such asCandPython
  • Familiarity withgrid or cloud computing platforms( or similar)
  • Track record of applying Data Science and AI techniques to solve real-world business problems and drive decision-making
  • Exposure tofull-stack web development including both front-end and back-end technologies
  • Awareness ofbanking regulationsand compliance considerations
