Job Description

Do you have a passion for public communication marketing and community engagement The City of Jersey Village is looking for a Communications Specialist to join our team and help share our story with residents businesses and the public.

What Youll Do:
As our Communications Specialist youll play a key role in shaping how the City communicates. You will:

  • Manage and support city-wide communication initiatives including public safety and emergency messaging.

  • Oversee and update the Citys website social media channels newsletters and other outreach platforms.

  • Write and design engaging content such as press releases brochures ads and community magazine articles.

  • Serve as a liaison between departments residents City Council and news media.

  • Coordinate community outreach events and marketing campaigns.

  • Provide creative input on communication strategies and improvements.

What Were Looking For:

  • Bachelors degree in Communications or related field.

  • At least two (2) years of experience in communications preferably with a local government or public sector organization.

  • Strong writing editing and graphic design skills.

  • Knowledge of public relations marketing and community outreach principles.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Proficiency with digital tools social media management and website content systems.
