Make a difference as Manager Computational Biology and Bioinformatics

As a Manager Computational Biology and Bioinformatics you will play a pivotal role in driving complex multi-disciplinary research initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and managing a team of researchers in the fields of computational biology bioinformatics and systems biology.

• Overseeing the development and implementation of computational tools supporting trait and biotechnology research.

• Manage the support of routine data analyses.

• Define the requirements for computational infrastructure and data storage to support multidisciplinary research activities.

• Collaborate with various departments including trait discovery research molecular and Cell Technology research data sciences and IT.

• Managing projects with clear timelines and deliverables using Agile or similar methodologies.

• Coach team members and foster a collaborative inclusive team culture.

• Translating complex computational analysis into actionable biological insights.

• Presenting findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders with clarity and confidence.

• Ability to recognize new opportunities by scouting new techniques and monitoring developments in the field of research.

What you bring as a future colleague

• PhD in Computational Biology Bioinformatics Systems Biology or a related field.

• Experience with machine learning and cloud computing platforms and integrating different types to (omics) data.

• Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects with structured methodologies.

• Demonstrated leadership in guiding teams of researchers in the fields of computational biology and bioinformatics.

• Skilled at bridging computational and biological domains through clear communication.

• A collaborative mindset and a passion for coaching team members and team development.
