Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the CCA Core Banking & Integration ensuring specific individual goals plans initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the teams business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships systems and knowledge.
- Develop cost effective and efficient applications to meet business objectives by analyzing user requirements providing technical specifications and design and developing/maintaining programs according to standards. The incumbent must ensure programs and applications developed meet the high availability integrity and reliability of the on-line transaction processing environment
- Provide production and user acceptance testing support to assigned applications by identifying evaluating escalating resolving problems and supporting other team members
- Responsibilities may also include participation in performance monitoring.
- Provides technical guidance and training to less experienced analysts and programmers.
- Understand how the Banks risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabanks Values its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles while ensuring the adequacy adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational compliance AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Dimensions
The incumbent is responsible for the supporting the following:
- CCA Region
- Core Banking systems
- Responsible for the design & development of simple to medium complex enhancement and participate in the development of major/complex enhancement > 500 workdays
- Support multiple applications concurrently ensuring high availability integrity and reliability of programs developed
Education / Experience / Other Information (include only those that are specific to the role)
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or relevant field.
- 1-3 years developer experience
- 1-3 years work experience as AS400 RPGLE Developer.
- Experience with AS/400 RPGLE Free Format RPG DB2 SQL VS Code BitBucket
- Experience working in an agile development environment (Confluence Jira CiAD pipeline Scrum/Kanban).
- Detail oriented team player with an ability to work with minimal direction.
