You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Office of Student Affairs and Curriculum (OSAC) is seeking an Academic or Clinical Program Management & Services Specialist to provide comprehensive academic support services for all medical and physician assistant students. Through individual and group sessions assist students with developing academic skills learning strategies and study techniques to achieve academic success. Coordinate peer tutoring program and programs to guide and support USMLE Step exam preparation. Work collaboratively with faculty administrators and staff to facilitate learning and maximize students educational outcomes

Primary duties to include:
Recruit Admit and Retain Prospective and Current Students for Programs Major Departments or Colleges:
Assist with career planning and retention.
Develop and implement programs and provide services that support the educational experience and retention of current or prospective students.
Monitor student progress throughout the program by analyzing assessment outcomes.
Enrollment Management:
Provide reports and recommendations to assist in assessing alignment with strategic goals.
Academic Standards and Curricular Policies:
Recommend revisions to policies and procedures.
Develop or maintain accurate program materials.
Update and incorporate changes into internal and external documents.
Assist in identifying recurring problems that may require further study.
Academic Program Management (Planning Designing Integrating and Evaluation Curriculum):
Assist with the development of academic programs and materials to meet departmental goals.
Develop and coordinate comprehensive learning/study resources available to students.
Provide ongoing monitoring and support for academically at-risk and/or underperforming students. Work with students individually and in groups to address learning difficulties by planning and providing interventions that lead to academic success.
Collaborate with other campus units to develop and deliver programs education and services.
Assist in identifying benchmarks and anticipating barriers.
May provide administrative oversight and coordination of educational programs.
Budget Oversight and Management:
Develop budget proposals for program or services in area of responsibility.
May provide functional and/or administrative supervision.
May provide direction assignments feedback coaching and counseling to assure outcomes are achieved.
Coordinate peer tutoring and USMLE Step exam preparation program and resources including tutor training database management coordination with faculty and payroll processing.
Maintain records of student progress and maintain confidentiality in compliance with FERPA guidelines.
Develop and implement strategies to track student academic performance.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelors or masters degree and experience in education educational psychology learning sciences career counseling/guidance Higher Education/Student Affairs instructional design or related field is required. Or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Reasonable independent experience (1-3 years) working as a learning specialist academic advisor or in a closely related field.
Experience providing academic support academic advising educational assessment and/or counseling.
Strong understanding of learning theories cognitive strategies and adult education principles.
Demonstrated skill at building and maintaining helping relationships through academic advising and/or career advising.
Demonstrated skill at building and maintaining collaborative collegial relationships through teamwork and leadership.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working in a higher education setting providing academic advisement to graduate and/or professional students.
Experience developing outreach or psycho-educational programming.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Reasonable (1-3 years) experience in public speaking within a college or university setting.
