SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION
The School of Continuing Education one of the eight Faculties/Schools/Academy of the University and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong offers a wide range of full-time and part-time programmes at the post-secondary undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults. It also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operated on a self-financed basis the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 500 part-time instructors. The School is inviting applications for the following position:
Senior Information Technology Officer / Information Technology Officer (Programming)
- Appointment Period : 6 months (Re. No.: )
The appointee is expected to perform the following duties:
Key Responsibilities :
- develop and maintain applications on the WorkSphere server platform;
- write clean efficient and maintainable code in PHP Python JSP SQL stored procedures;
- design implement and maintain RESTful APIs to support application functionality;
- create and maintain shell scripts for automation and server management tasks;
- troubleshoot debug and enhance existing systems; and
- collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or related discipline with 3 years of relevant work experience (those with Higher Diploma / Associate degree or less experience will be considered for the post of Information Technology Officer) ;
- Proven experience in programming with PHP Python JSP SQL RESTful API stored procedures.
- Proficiency in writing shell scripts for automation and system tasks;
- Strong communication skills ability to work independently and meet deadlines; and
- Immediately available is preferred.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
