About the role

Our Transmission Section at Glendenning currently has an opportunity for a qualified and experienced tradesperson to join their Team.

As the Cable Jointer Transmission your responsibilities will include:

  • Involvement in all facets of Transmission underground construction and maintenance activities
  • Carry out emergency restoration work.
  • Attend to after-hours fault & emergency response work when required.
  • Travel within and outside of franchise area to carry out any specific projects as required.

About you

To be successful:

Essential criteria

  • Certificate of competency as a Distribution Power Line Worker
  • Sound knowledge of the construction and maintenance practices for Transmission and Distribution underground network
  • Experience in installation repair and maintenance of underground cables up to and including 33/66kV
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Personal commitment to working safely and good knowledge of OH&S policies and procedures covering field operations

Desirable Criteria

  • Current HR drivers licence
  • WorkCover Certificates C2 DG Forklift & EWP
  • Traffic Control Certificates
  • Experience in installation repair and maintenance of 132kV Underground Cables
  • Exposure to oil filled cables and gas insulated switchgear

Note:Shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo a practical assessment.
