This position is 40 hours per week working Monday through Friday from 7:30am-4:00pm in the Outpatient Clinics.

Responsibilities
Provides phlebotomy services for designated site including transporting specimen to appropriate lab as needed and obtaining daily results of specimens obtained.
Checks orders for appropriate specimens to be obtained.
Completes lab slips accurately when necessary and/or checks accuracy of slip.
Identifies and verifies the appropriate patient for specimen collection and collects specimen using proper technique and standard precautions.
Prints specimen labels (computerized and addressograph) labels and prepares specimen accurately.
Obtains and records weights heights vital signs and head circumference.
Assists with examinations treatments and procedures performed in the Outpatient Department.
Monitors and maintains phlebotomy supplies.
Prepares exam and triage rooms prior to the start of clinic and between each patient and escorts patient/family to assigned exam room.
Monitors the expiration dates on the general medical supplies.
Cleans toys according to Kennedy Krieger Institute infection control guidelines.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Graduate or equivalent.
Current national certification in Phlebotomy is required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification required.
Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate through Maryland Board of Nursing required.
Experience:
Minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience required.
Minimum of one year of pediatric experience preferred.
