Position Summary:
Reporting to the senior director of campus and community engagement and conference services the special events production manageris responsible for organizing and executing impactful events that align with the universitys strategic objectives. This role requires creativity exceptional communication meticulous attention to detail and strong project management skills toensure seamless execution of assignedevents. The role also requires experiencein general special event production and knowledge of all event disciplines to ensure operational planning design and layout is effective for both production staff as well as event patrons. The production manager willassist co-workers on events as assigned providing guidance and advice on operational planning. This is a key positionthat will help to create a campus-wide events office with a focus of collaborating on special events that will elevate and market Rice objectives programs and accomplishmentsin support of the departments offices institutions and colleges that make-up the University.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with a passion to create exceptional events and memorable attendee experiences and will exhibit a high degree of confidentiality integrity and professionalism with proven project management experience specifically in planning collaborating and executing safe events in a positive and professional environment.
Workplace Requirements:
Hybrid position: This position is offered as a hybrid role combining both in-office and remote work to provide flexibility and support collaboration. PerRice policy 440 work arrangements may be subject to change.
Hiring Range:commensurate based on education and experience
