JOB SUMMARY
Lead Optical Transceiver Firmware Engineerdevelops and maintains the embedded software for optical transceivers ensuring they operate reliably and role requires a deep understanding of both hardware and software with responsibilities including designing implementing testing and debugging firmware for these devices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Firmware Development:Writing debugging and testing firmware for optical transceivers often using C or C.
- Hardware Integration:Collaborating with hardware engineers to ensure the firmware works seamlessly with the transceivers hardware.
- Testing and Validation:Thoroughly testing firmware to ensure it meets performance and reliability requirements.
- Problem Solving:Debugging and resolving issues with firmware and hardware integration.
- Performance Optimization:Optimizing firmware for speed efficiency and power consumption.
- Documentation:Maintaining detailed documentation of firmware code and functionality.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors Degree:Typically a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or a related field is required.
- Experience:Relevant experience in firmware development embedded systems and optical transceivers is highly desirable.
- Masters Degree or Ph.D.:May be preferred or required for more senior positions.
