Job Description

Dentons is a full service commercial law firm and the worlds largest global law firm with offices in over 80 countries and 160 locations across the globe.

The Role

Due to two of our team members heading off overseas our Financial Markets team is looking for an experienced lawyer to join their national team.

Our Financial Markets team led by Catriona Grover and David Ireland (rated Band 1 for financial services by Chambers and Partners) is one of the leading providers of legal services to the financial markets sector. Our clients range from some of New Zealands largest banks insurers and fund managers to niche providers and start-ups. The Financial Markets team works nationally with team members located in both Auckland and Wellington.


About you

Our ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience in Financial Markets including relevant experience in

  • Funds management
  • Insurance
  • Fintech
  • Financial adviser law
  • Financial services regulation


You will:

  • Have a desire to work closely with clients as one of their trusted advisors with a laser focus on delivering excellent client service
  • Be a team player who wants to contribute to a supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Be someone who wants to learn and grow and who aspires to build a career as a recognised expert in the financial markets practice area
  • Have a high-performance mind-set with good commercial acumen balanced with attention to detail
  • Be looking for a team where you will receive fantastic support and mentoring from seniors and partners while being able to share your experience and knowledge with those more junior to you.
