Bridge Engineering Technician - Dublin

Roughan & ODonovan (ROD) is seeking to appoint a talented bridge engineering technician with a minimum of seven years relevant experience for a permanent position within our bridges group in Dublin.

Location:Sandyford Dublin 18 or Woodford Dublin 17

About the role

As an experienced bridge engineering technician you will play an integral role in the delivery of our bridge and multidisciplinary projects. You will be supported throughout by our teams in Ireland and the UK.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Production of engineering models drawings and details for various types of bridges retaining walls culverts and other civil structures

  • Preparation of conceptual design and detailed design drawings

  • Performance of the role of project technician on multidisciplinary projects

  • Review of steel fabrication drawings and shop drawings

  • Delivery of high-quality engineering drawings in a timely manner

  • Guidance and mentorship of junior colleagues

Essential

  • A minimum of a higher certificate in civil or structural engineering (Level 6 in the National Framework of Qualifications) or equivalent

  • A minimum of seven years of relevant experience of modelling and drafting of bridge and civil structures

  • Proficient in AutoCAD CADS-RC and structural steelwork detailing

  • Fluent orhighly proficient in spoken and written English

  • Flexible motivated and focused

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce high quality drawings

  • Motivated individual with a strong work ethic

  • Comfortable working in a busy work environment with tight deadlines

Desirable

  • Experience in 3D modelling using AutoCAD or other suitable software

  • Proficiency in a range of software packages such as Civil 3D Revit Navisworks
