Job Description

I. Primary Purpose:

The Technical Designer Tapestry RTW Asia is responsible for ensuring RTW product meets or exceeds the agreed design intent in terms of aesthetic interpretation fit and garment safety. The Technical Designers responsibility covers all garments and related garment construction tests from initial development to final bulk production. This is a key role of the Regional Support Team for providing essential service and support to internal RTW teams and external Service Providers (SPs).

II. Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with NY Technical Design Team to approve Preproduction samples in region as needed.
  • Assist line manager in follow up on all aspects of garment construction testing work.
  • Collect and compile all testing and inspection reports.
  • Assist line manager conduct data statistics and analysis as required.

Tactical:

  • Review all testing mockups and communicate with internal teams and external SPs to ensure mockups are up to the standard/purpose before passing to Lab.
  • Participate in internal risk meetings and follow up/communicate with NY teams SPs and GPC/ Laboratory for mockup submission and testing reports.
  • Preproduction sample approval review fit comments tech packs and following companys sample approval procedure to provides preproduction sample comments for SPs.
  • Filing all testing reports and production reports.
  • Illustrate testing/inspection outcome data analysis in diverse charts.

III. Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Major in fashion/clothing in college is preferred.
  • Above 5 years of experience as an apparel technician familiar with sewing/construction techniques(woven)
  • Having experienced in following up on apparel testing and relevant testing.
  • Be proficient in using office software for data collation report writing and cross-departmental communication and collaboration.
  • Have good communication skills and a team spirit of cooperation.
  • Fluent in both English and Mandarin.
