Job Summary
The General Liability Claims Examiner is responsible for managing a portfolio of moderate to high-severity commercial general liability claims with a strong focus on bodily injury exposure. This individual conducts thorough investigations evaluates coverage and liability and drives claims toward fair and timely resolution while providing excellent service to insureds and stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of general liability claims involving bodily injury property damage premises liability and products liability.
- Conduct detailed investigations including obtaining statements reviewing police reports medical records and other relevant documentation.
- Analyze coverage interpret policy language and determine appropriate claim strategies.
- Establish and maintain timely and accurate reserves in accordance with company guidelines.
- Negotiate settlements directly with claimants attorneys or through mediation/arbitration when appropriate.
- Coordinate with defense counsel and oversee litigation strategy on litigated or complex claims.
- Maintain accurate and detailed claim files with regular documentation of claim activity and progress.
- Provide regular updates and recommendations to management and maintain timely communication with insureds brokers and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations internal policies and industry best practices.
- Participate in settlement conferences mediations and trials as needed.
- Identify subrogation and recovery opportunities and pursue accordingly.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
- 2 years of experience handling General Liability claims specifically those involving bodily injury.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial general liability policies claims handling practices and applicable laws.
- Experience managing litigated BI claims and working with defense counsel.
- Strong analytical negotiation and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Adjuster license(s) preferred or willingness to obtain if required.
