Job Description

Senior Research Assistant/ Research Assistant I/II (several posts) in theDivision of Community Medicine and Public Health Practice School of Public Health (Ref.: 532505) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary term or two-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelors degree or above preferably in Public Health Biological/Medical Science Nursing or related areas with at least 3 years of related working experience. They should have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese along with strong communication and interpersonal skills. They should be analytical mature attentive to details and able to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Applicants should have substantial experience in implementing community surveillance and health promotion projects along with some knowledge of statistical analysis and proficiency in statistical and computer software (e.g. R Python). Those with less experience may be considered for the position of Research Assistant I/II.

The appointees will assist in the implementation of various public health surveillance and health promotion programmes and data management tasks in the Division. They will conduct participant recruitment and monitoring clinical data and specimen collection prepare research summaries draft reports and manuscripts and provide other administrative and technical support as assigned.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
