Flux Power develops advanced lithium-ion batteries for industrial uses. Flux Power solutions utilize its proprietary battery management system (BMS) and in-house engineering and product design. Flux Power batteries deliver improved performance extended cycle life and lower total cost of ownership than legacy lead-acid solutions. Flux Power sells primarily to equipment OEMs their dealers and battery distributors. Current products include advanced battery packs for motive power in forklift equipment stationary power for solar storageand airport ground support markets.
About the Role
The Engineering Technician will perform sub-assembly assembly and integration of custom designed equipment. With minimal supervision the Engineering Technician will build complicated assemblies subassemblies and systems. The Engineering Technician will assist technicians and engineers with the repair installation integration and testing of equipment cables and sub-assemblies utilizing established techniques and documentation.
What you Will be Doing
- Assemble install and integrate various equipment cables and sub-assemblies following established processes.
- Perform self-inspection and testing of assemblies produced.
- Effectively and accurately report status updates on an as needed basis to engineers and technicians in order to complete the assembly build and installation of assigned projects.
- May assist with prototyping of new designs and provide feedback to engineers regarding product design improvements.
- Must understand and adhere to safety standards as set forth by the company.
- Other tasks and responsibilities relating to the design build and test of complex electro-mechanical systems.
- 5 to 10 years related experience.
- Skilled in the use of electronic rework tools soldering and microscope equipment and small hand tools including wrenches drivers and crimpers as well as power tools including saws sanders drills and grinders.
- Must have the experience and knowledge to use electronic test equipment including DMM current meter oscilloscope and bench power supply etc. to validate product quality and reliability.
- Attention to detail and good verbal / written communications skills a must.
- Recommended intermediate computer skills including applications such as MS Word Excel Outlook Internet browsers and product specific or OEM equipment utilities and applications.
- Job frequently requires walking standing and handling objects in a production manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to manufacturing environment.
- Job may require kneeling stooping forward bending reaching and occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and or electronically.
- Hearing requirement: Ability to tolerate loud noises from various manufacturing machines.
