What Youll Be Doing:

Perform general shipboard maintenance under the direction and supervision of the Ship Maintenance Supervisor or assigned supervisor or manager. Ties up vessels cleans piers vessel / craft decks hulls holds compartments engine rooms magazines bilges and tanks. Performs vessel and craft preservation. Prepares surfaces for preservation using chipping hammer scaling tools hand scrapes power equipment and deck cleaning machines. Applies proper preservation using paint brushes and paint rollers. Applies sealing compounds using hands brush or caulking tools. Pumps tanks and bilges installs and connects sump pumps air driven reciprocating pumps suction and discharge hoses.

What Youll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Two (2) years of relevant equipment marine or industrial mechanic experience trade school certificate or relevant experience in the military. Must have a valid drivers license and qualify to operate government/company vehicles in accordance with the Corporate Fleet Vehicle Safety Manual. Must qualify as a Small Boat and Workboat Operator (LCM type) and Forklift Operator within the specified assigned time periods per Offer Letter.

Preferred:

  • Five (5) years as an equipment maintenance mechanic. Navy Engineering rating or Armed Forces Diesel Engine Repair Military Occupational Specialty (MOS).
