The Director of the Women and Family Center provides clinical and administrative leadership for a defined service line overseeing labor and delivery postpartum nursery and pediatric units. This role is responsible for implementing organizational vision and nursing standards managing 24-hour operations supervising staff and ensuring regulatory compliance. The position collaborates with leadership and departments across the organization to deliver quality healthcare services and manages fiscal responsibilities for maternal and child health services.
Lead nursing and ancillary staff within the Women and Family Center including evaluation and performance management
Participate in policy formulation and decision-making processes
Ensure quality and appropriateness of patient care
Coordinate nursing services with other healthcare disciplines
Oversee recruitment selection retention staffing and scheduling of personnel
Manage orientation education credentialing and professional development for staff
Develop and monitor departmental budgets
Support nursing research and foster educational experiences for students
Promote peer review and regulatory compliance
Ensure adherence to applicable accreditation licensing and regulatory standards
Other duties as assigned
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Leadership skills to foster teamwork and attention to detail
Conflict management and problem-solving abilities
Clinical knowledge in maternal nursery and pediatric care
Understanding of regulatory requirements and patient care standards
Familiarity with healthcare technology
Commitment to continuous education and improvement
Bachelors degree in Nursing or related field required
Masters degree in Healthcare Administration Business Administration Nursing Administration or related field preferred
Minimum five years of clinical experience in relevant areas
Leadership or clinical management experience preferred
Current RN license valid in the state of practice or compact nursing license
Mandatory Reporter certification for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse
BLS certification
