You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailOregon Tourism Commission seeks a full-time Tourism Research Manager: Develop and lead tourism research strategy to provide data intelligence; Determine research methodology and direct research projects to provide resident visitor and industry insights; Develop and manage collaborative research projects with stakeholders; Develop and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor strategic vision progress; Measure sustainable tourism metrics across studios/departments to compare results across data sets; Oversee development of return on investment revenue forecasts and economic impact estimates; Utilize conceptual and quantitative modeling techniques to test research hypothesis and research the causal interactions between different tourism concepts; Provide recommendations on strategic direction; Review academic/industry reports on visitor profiles behavior experience and economic and social impacts of tourism; Direct survey question development and determine the need for additional research; Review research requests and proposals and advise on feasibility and value; Perform in-depth analysis of research data on destination marketing and management and recommend findings to stakeholders; Ensure the veracity and reliability of research findings and tourism impact calculations; Communicate complex research analysis through reports dashboards presentations summaries. Develop/identify educational programs related to tourism research; Maintain updated knowledge of trends and research in tourism industry and best practices for quantitative and qualitative research related to economic impact evaluation measurement of visitor volume and traveler insights; Track regional/national/international tourism statistics and trends; Identify and evaluate third party research products and databases; Collaborate with management to provide information to media journalists & partners research requests.
Option to work remote 90% of the time; working at employers central office (located in Portland OR) up to 5% of the time.
Travel within Oregon up to 5% of the time is required.
