Job Description

We are seeking an experienced media leader to head our XCM (Cross-Channel Cross-Category Marketing) Media team in Japan. This role will be responsible for leading the internal media team and managing agency relationships while driving innovation and excellence in media strategy and execution across all channels.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead and develop the XCM media team in Japan providing mentorship career guidance and ensuring alignment with global standards
- Drive the development and execution of comprehensive media strategies aligned with marketing objectives
- Manage the annual media budget allocation and optimization across campaigns
- Oversee campaign performance reporting and KPI measurement (awareness reach frequency and attention)
- Guide data-driven media briefings and planning processes
- Spearhead innovation in media channel exploration and effectiveness measurement
- Collaborate with global teams to align Japanese media operations with US and EU standards
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships across internal teams and external partners

Strategic Leadership:
- Design and implement media strategies that drive business growth
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to enhance Amazons and Primes brand awareness
- Anticipate and mitigate challenges in annual media planning around key events and seasons
- Drive continuous improvement in media effectiveness and efficiency
- Lead innovation initiatives to elevate XCM Japans media capabilities


- 9 years of professional non-internship marketing experience
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation macros charts and pivot tables)
- Experience communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience building executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
- Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
- Fluency in English

- Experience working cross-functionally and driving decision making among stakeholders with competing goals
- Experience with various types of research methodologies is key including quant qual 1P & 3P data trend analysis & forecasting etc.
- Fluency in Japanese
