We are seeking an experienced After-Hours Telehealth GP Locum to join our team. This flexible role allows you to work remotely while making a meaningful impact in aged care.
About the Role
As an After-Hours GP Locum you will:
- Conduct after-hours telehealth rounds for residential aged care facilities.
- Provide acute medical support clinical oversight and continuity of care for residents.
- Update medication charts issue prescriptions and order investigations as needed.
- Manage and follow up on acute issues raised by facility staff.
- Communicate with family members and provide referrals to specialists where required.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation within 30 minutes of completing rounds.
Work Schedule
- Weekday evenings: 6:30 pm 9:30 pm
- Weekends: 9:30 am 12:30 pm 1:30 pm 4:30 pm 6:30 pm 9:30 pm
- Average 4 consultations per hour depending on case complexity.
- Consultations may be initiated by either residents or facility staff.
- Full administrative support provided.
About You
You are a compassionate and adaptable GP who embraces innovative models of care and values flexibility. You will bring:
- Current AHPRA General or Specialist Registration.
- Experience in residential aged care or primary care settings (highly regarded).
- Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills.
- Confidence using telehealth platforms and electronic medical records.
- A collaborative solutions-focused approach.
- Reliable internet connection and your own laptop.
