Job Description

Join our prestigious Parliamentary Catering Team as a Chef de Partie and be a part of showcasing New Zealands premium hospitality services at the heart of our democracy!

M te tnga About the role:

The Chef de Partie will co-ordinate and prepare all menu items to the highest standards in accordance with the company standards and the directive of the Sous Chef/Head Chef. This position will supervise shift operations in the absence of the Sous Chef/Head Chef manage meal service periods and supervise and train junior chefs.

  • Prepare and cook high quality dishes for various functions within the parliamentary precinct.
  • Assist in menu planning and development focusing on local and seasonal ingredients.
  • Maintain a high standard of hygiene food delivery and discipline in all kitchens in accordance with kitchen standards and codes of practice government legislation and Parliamentary Service policy.
  • Ensures proper usage of any food leftovers or wastages consulting with the Sous Chef/Head Chef if required.

  • A passion for providing a high-quality service.
  • A recognised chef qualification.
  • Experience in a high-volume catering operation along with caf or restaurant experience including both a la carte and function catering would be advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of various cooking methods and cuisines.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

The starting salary range for this role is $64485 - $70979 per annum. Appointments will be based on skills and experience (please note the full salary range extends beyond this to allow for tenure progression).
