Job Description Summary
Responsible for collecting processing maintaining and managing data related to employee time and leaves. Processes workers compensation claims and assists the Benefits Specialist manage college benefits. Serves as contact and knowledgeable resource for employees regarding these activities and provides accurate courteous efficient and timely service. Works effectively with coworkers and third-party administrators on a regular basis to ensure compliance with legal requirements plan provisions and College policies and procedures. Maintains the highest ethical standards including confidentiality of employee and student records. Start Date: As soon as possible
Duties
1. Collects and audits all full-time employee and records of leave each month timesheets from each department. 2. Reconciles all types of leave used reviews for accuracy generates leave reports distributes them to departments and provides clarification as needed. 3. Inputs all leave data into Colleague. Creates and maintains all time and leave forms. 4. Performs ongoing maintenance of leave such as obtaining Family Medical Leave hours used by employees updates tracking spreadsheet reconciles to Request for Leave forms and Monthly Record of Leave reports and enters data in Colleague. 5. Works closely with the Benefits Specialist to ensure extended and intermittent leaves are tracked and recorded properly. 6. Requests and tracks Shared Leave donations. Maintains Shared Leave hours in Colleague. Submits annual Shared Leave report to the System Office. Ensures annual rollovers of excess Vacation time get transferred into Sick time balances. 7. Collects and processes workers compensation claims and completes annual reporting. 8. Manages the Employee Emergency Program. Communicates with employees needing assistance verifies eligibility and prepares paperwork to request funds on behalf of employees. 9. Maintains spreadsheet to track and monitor part-time employee hours for ACA purposes. 10. Manages the retirement gift program and purchasing. 11. Assists the Benefits Specialist with Open Enrollment and managing college benefits. 12. Serves as a backup for the Benefits Specialist. 13. Contributes to the College Vision Mission Values and RISE statement. 14. Supports workforce diversity in all its aspects. 15. Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelors degree. 2. Related experience in a NC community college or other public higher education institution. 3. Experience with the Ellucian Colleague system or other information system. 4. Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish an East Slavic language and/or American Sign Language.
