Job Summary:

Join a growing remote team focused on underwriting and managing agency relationships to drive new workers compensation business for mid-market clients in Indiana. This newly created role combines marketing and underwriting responsibilities with authority over new and renewal business. Ideal candidates are entrepreneurial relationship-driven and preferably based near Indianapolis.

Marketing Responsibilities:

  • Build and grow agency relationships to drive new workers comp business
  • Meet regularly with key agents to gather market insights and strengthen partnerships
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote products
  • Monitor market trends and identify growth opportunities
  • Represent the company at presentations events and meetings
  • Educate agents on standalone workers comp programs and assess agency performance
  • Coordinate client services like claims reviews and loss prevention meeting

Underwriting Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and analyzes new and renewal business in accordance with Company underwriting guidelines and risk appetite. Collaborates with agents brokers and clients to obtain necessary information and clarify details.
  • Partners with internal business partners such as loss prevention premium audit and actuaries to effectively underwrite a profitable book business to ensure exposures are thoroughly evaluated when making mid-term policy changes and reviewing renewals.
  • Maintains and monitors entire underwriting book of business to achieve premium volume and loss ratios consistent with company goals and objectives.
  • Provides premier customer service to all customers and complies with customer service standards. Responds promptly to resolve complaints or problems. Adheres to partnership agreements with business service teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in business insurance or related field (or 4 years relevant experience)
  • 4 years in insurance sales/marketing; underwriting experience preferred
  • Agency background and designations (CPCU CIC ARM) are a plus
  • Strong marketing communication and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of commercial P&C insurance Workers Comp and rating structures
  • Analytical detail-oriented and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; digital marketing familiarity a plus
  • Able to travel; valid drivers license required
