The Role
The Accounting Administratorplays an important role in improving workflow efficiency and accuracy inday-to-day financial operations by managing financial transactions related toaccounts payable accounts receivable and general financial processes. Keyresponsibilities include accurately processing invoices and paymentsmaintaining financial documentation preparing reconciliations and assistingwith general ledger entries and internal claims under the guidance of theSenior Accountant.
Your day-to-day
Perform day-to-day accounts payable and receivablefunctions including invoice processing performing payment runs andmaintaining accurate financial records in accordance with internal policiespayment terms and timelines.
Manage the setup and maintenance of vendoraccounts monitor payment terms for each and communicate with each vendor asneeded to resolve discrepancies and ensure efficient payment cycles.
Manage the SAP Concur Invoice and Expense systemand the corporate credit card program providing staff training supporttroubleshooting and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
Prepare journal entries and support month/year-endClose by creating journal entries with supporting documentation assist withaccruals and contribute to monthly and year-end closing processes by ensuringtimely and accurate financial reporting.
Complete regular reconciliations of accountspayable receivable bank accounts and other general ledger balances;investigate discrepancies and maintain up-to-date financial records.
Support Cash Management Activities through theRecording and reconciliation of bank transactions processing internal fundtransfers and monitoring daily cash balances to support treasury activitiesand liquidity planning.
Assist with the preparation of supporting schedulesand documentation for annual audits liaise with auditors and help implementand maintain effective internal financial controls and processes.
Provide cross-functional support throughcollaboration with other departments to address financial inquiries and providebackup coverage for Finance/Office Assistant or Fee Collection & ReportingSpecialist as needed.
Contribute to process improvements that enhancefinancial workflow accuracy and service to internal stakeholders.
Contributeto finance or administrative-related special projects including systemupgrades process automation and troubleshooting.
Develop and maintain effective workingrelationships within the team and across all departments.
Performsother duties as required.
What you will Bring
Education & Experience
Diplomaor Certificate in Accounting Finance or Business Administration.
13years of experience in a similar accounting role.
Experiencewith accounts payable/receivable reconciliations and ERP systems ( Dynamics 365 Business Central).
Experiencewith SAP Concur Payworks JET Reports or Power BI is an asset.
Experienceworking in agriculture or non-profit settings is an asset.
CharteredProfessional Accounting Administrator (CPA) or working towards is consideredan asset.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Abilityto ensure data entry and transaction processing accuracy through strongattention to detail.
Demonstrated ability tocommunicate effectivelyboth verbally and in writingwith internal and externalstakeholders to educate provide support and resolve issues.
Highly organized andskilled in time management to ensure tasks are completed efficiently anddeadlines are consistently met.
Familiarityand comfort with digital systems and tools for ease of use and the ability totroubleshoot and guide staff through system issues.
Highlevel of professionalism and confidentiality.
Collaborative mindset and willingness to work independently and as partof a team.
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
Proficiency with MS Office 365 (Word OutlookPowerPoint etc.).
Sound judgment critical thinking and integrity inall actions.
