Our client is looking for Highway Maintenance Technicians to join their operations team in the Tampa area. This role involves hands-on roadway maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with federal state and local safety standards as well as company policies. Candidates must be dependable safety-conscious and open to working flexible schedules including nights and on-call shifts.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform daily roadway inspections and patrols
Carry out maintenance and repair of signs guardrails and roadway lighting
Operate heavy equipment as needed for maintenance tasks
Support incident and emergency response operations
Apply herbicides in compliance with licensing requirements
Work collaboratively with team members to complete assigned projects safely and efficiently
Previous experience in highway or roadway maintenance
MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) certification preferred
Familiarity with roadway repair practices and safe work standards
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
Ability to pass background screening motor vehicle record check and drug testing
Strong knowledge of traffic safety and local driving regulations
Comfortable using smartphones and related applications for work reporting
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing strenuous outdoor work in varying weather conditions
Skilled in operating power tools and standard maintenance equipment
Reliable and adaptable to changing work schedules
Full-time position with flexibility required for emergency call-outs nights weekends and holidays.
Compensation & BenefitsStarting pay: $16/hour (commensurate with experience and equipment knowledge)
